Lotus Flowers and Water Lilies

I like to shoot portraits of flowers that have something unique.  In the case of Lotus flowers, it's the pod.  It looks kind of alien to me.  Water lilies are interesting because they are in water so there's an opportunity to capture a reflection, and the lily pads are interesting to photograph in and of themselves.

I spent a morning a few summers ago at a garden with a large pond with water lilies and rows and rows of lotus flowers.  A photographer's delight!
