Painterly Photographs
What is painterly photography? It is an artistic technique to discover the wonders of creating a unique impressionistic image. Instead of using the traditional canvas, palette and paintbrush, I use a Polaroid camera, Time Zero film and chopsticks. Time Zero film is unusual - you can manipulate the emulsion using a blunt tool to transform a photograph into a remarkable image. Time Zero film is no longer produced; I was fortunate to learn the technique and create some special images before the demise of this art form.
